18 COVID-19 cases, 4 deaths

Jamaica on Tuesday recorded 18 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 128,246.

There were four additional deaths, increasing the figure to 2,835. There are no deaths under investigation, nor coincidental deaths.

The deceased are:

  • A 96-year-old woman from St Catherine
  • An 83-year-old man from St Catherine
  • A 78-year-old man from St Catherine
  • A 64-year-old man from Westmoreland

The deaths occured between February and March, 2022.

The positivity rate decreased from 4.7 per cent to 3.9 per cent. The total number of tests: 2,097.

Of the 18 new cases, St James accounted for the highest number with 8.

Kingston and St Andrew and St Catherine in the meantime, both accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 4 each; Clarendon and Manchester followed with 1 each. Hanover, St Ann, Westmoreland, Portland, St Elizabeth, St Mary, St Thomas and Trelawny recorded no new cases.
