21 COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths

Jamaica on Sunday recorded 21 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 128,400.

There were five additional deaths, increasing the figure to 2,850. There were no coincidental deaths, nor deaths under investigation.

The deceased are:

  • An 83-year-old man from Portland
  • A 56-year-old woman from Westmoreland
  • A 65-year-old woman from Westmoreland
  • A 59-year-old woman from St Mary
  • An 85-year-old man from Portland

The deaths occurred between January and February, 2022.

The positivity rate increased from 3.3 per cent to 3.8 per cent. The total number of tests: 2,453.

Of the 25 new cases, Clarendon and St Catherine accounted for the highest number with 4 each.

Kingston and St Andrew in the meantime, accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 3; St Mary, St Elizabeth and St James followed with 2 each; Hanover, Manchester, St Ann and St Thomas with 1 each; Portland, Trelawny and Westmoreland recorded no new cases.
