27 COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

Jamaica on Wednesday recorded 27 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 128,273.

There were two additional deaths, increasing the figure to 2,837. Two deaths are under investigation, increasing the number of deaths under investigation to 417. There were no coincidental deaths.

The deceased are:

  • An 80-year-old man from St Elizabeth
  • A 91-year-old man from St Elizabeth

The deaths occured between February and March, 2022.

The positivity rate decreased from 3.9 per cent to 3.3 per cent. The total number of tests: 2,076.

Of the 27 new cases, Kingston and St Andrew, St Catherine and St James all accounted for the highest number with 5 each.

Clarendon, Manchester, St Elizabeth and Westmoreland in the meantime, all accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 2 each; Hanover, Portland, St Ann and St Mary followed with 1 each. St Thomas and Trelawny recorded no new cases.
