Jamaica on Tuesday recorded 35 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 127,741.
There were three additional deaths, increasing the figure to 2,798. One death was coincidental, increasing the number of coincidental deaths to 223. Two deaths are under investigation, increasing the number of deaths under investigation to 414.
The deceased are:
- A 78-year-old woman from Manchester (died in October, 2021)
- A 77-year-old man from Westmoreland
- A 77-year-old man from Westmoreland
The deaths occurred in February 2022.
The positivity rate increased from 4.4 per cent to 7 per cent. The total number of tests: 1,909.
Of the 35 new cases, Kingston and St Andrew accounted for the highest number with 8.
Hanover in the meantime, accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 7; St Catherine and St James followed with 5 each; Manchester with 4; St Elizabeth and Westmoreland with 3 each. Clarendon, Portland, St Ann, St Mary, St Thomas and Trelawny recorded no new cases.
