55 COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths

Jamaica on Sunday recorded 55 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 127,665.

There were three additional deaths, increasing the figure to 2,787. There were no coincidental deaths. One death is under investigation, increasing the number of deaths under investigation to 419.

The deceased are:

  • An 86-year-old woman from Westmoreland
  • A 79-year-old woman from Westmoreland
  • A 96-year-old woman from Westmoreland

The deaths occurred between January and February 2022.

The positivity rate increased from 8.5 per cent to 9.4 per cent. The total number of tests: 587.

Of the 55 new cases, Kingston and St Andrew accounted for the highest number with 11.

St James in the meantime, accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 8; Manchester, St Catherine and Westmoreland followed with 6 each; Clarendon with 5; St Ann and Trelawny with 4 each; Hanover and St Elizabeth with 2 each; St Thomas with 1. Portland and St Mary recorded no new cases.
