A 19-year-old who stands accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl is being sought by the police after being on the run.

It is understood that the accused fled to his mother’s house in Kingston on Monday, January 23 after the victim’s mother filed a report to the police after discovering evidence in her daughter’s phone of the accused engaging in sexual intercourse with the minor.

Further reports also alluded that the mother of the accused also persuaded her not to pursue a case, however, she refused and later filed a report prompting the accused to flee the parish.

Police also shared that the accused’s mother has refused to hand over her son and divulge his whereabouts.

As such, the mother is being sought by the police for attempting to pervert the course of justice.
