November is already proving to be a month of thanksgiving for rap star 50 Cent after his 2003 hit “In Da Club” was officially certified diamond in the US.
The Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA) verified the track’s status on Wednesday as its first official certification of the month.
‘In Da Club’ is the lead single from ‘Fiddy’s’ debut album “Get Rich or Die Trying,” which itself has been RIAA certified 9-times platinum in the US alone while registering more than 12 million units globally.
The rap classic that celebrated its 20th anniversary in January continues to prove it remains just as appealing among the newer generation as it nears the 2 billion streams on YouTube.
‘In Da Club’ is 50 Cent’s first diamond-selling single in the US and his third diamond status in music, with his sophomore album ‘Massacre’ also reportedly selling 10 million units globally.
The G-unit boss, who has had several multiplatinum records since then, is enjoying an equally successful venture into television with his acclaimed Power Book franchise.
