733 COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths

Jamaica yesterday recorded 733 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 80,406.

There were 3 additional deaths, increasing the figure to 1,794. Five deaths are under investigation, increasing the figure to 275.

The victims are a 71-year-old man from St Thomas, a 37-year-old man from St Mary and a 49-year-old woman also from St Mary.

The positivity rate increased from 30.6 per cent to 39.8 per cent. Number of tests: 1,188

Of the 733 new cases, Kingston and St Andrew accounted for the highest number with 160.

St Catherine, in the meantime, accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 128; St Ann followed with 89; St James with 70; St Thomas with 60; Westmoreland 45; St Elizabeth 36; Trelawny 34; St Mary 28; Clarendon 27; Manchester 22 and Portland with 1.

On Saturday, Jamaica recorded 546 COVID-19 cases and 14 deaths.
