Jamaica on Tuesday recorded 8 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 128,426.
There were four additional deaths, increasing the figure to 2,855. There were no coincidental deaths, nor deaths under investigation.
The deceased are:
- A 96-year-old woman from St James (died November 2020)
- A 92-year-old woman from St Ann (died November 2020)
- A 16-year-old man from St James (died December 2020)
- A 75-year-old woman from Kingston and St Andrew (died March 2022)
The positivity rate decreased from 5.1 per cent to 1.9 per cent. The total number of tests: 1,703.
Of the 8 new cases, St James and Trelawny accounted for the highest number with 2 each.
Clarendon, St Ann, Kingston and St Andrew and Westmoreland in the meantime, all accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 1 each. Hanover, Manchester, Portland, St Catherine, St Elizabeth, St Mary and St Thomas recorded no new cases.
