The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) is advising its customers to brace for higher electricity bills in the coming weeks.
The company says this is a result of the increased fuel costs it has been experiencing over the last few months, due to the international surge in prices.
The JPS further notes that global uncertainties have led to increases in the price of oil and natural gas, adding that the rise in fuel costs has been compounded by the depreciation of the Jamaican dollar.
The JPS is therefore encouraging consumers to practice energy management.
