Jamaica on Monday recorded 41 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 127,706.
There were eight additional deaths, increasing the figure to 2,795. There were no coincidental deaths nor deaths under investigation.
The deceased are:
- A 46-year-old woman from Westmoreland (died in August, 2021)
- An 81-year-old woman from Hanover (died in August, 2021)
- A 60-year-old woman from Hanover (died in August, 2021)
- A 79-year-old woman from Westmoreland (died in August, 2021)
- A 54-year-old man from Hanover (died in August, 2021)
- An 87-year-old woman from Hanover (died in August, 2021)
- A 77-year-old woman from Kingston and St Andrew (died in February, 2022)
- A 54-year-old man from Westmoreland (died in February, 2022)
The positivity rate decreased from 9.4 per cent to 4.4 per cent. The total number of tests: 3,412.
Of the 41 new cases, St Catherine and St James both accounted for the highest number with 9 each.
Westmoreland in the meantime, accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 8; St Ann followed with 6; Clarendon with 3; Hanover and Kingston and St Andrew with 2 each; Portland and Trelawny with 1 each. Manchester, St Elizabeth, St Mary and St Thomas recorded no new cases.
