57 COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

Jamaica on Thursday recorded 57 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 127,856.

There were two additional deaths, increasing the figure to 2,810. No deaths were coincidental deaths. Three deaths are under investigation, increasing the number of deaths under investigation to 414.

The deceased are:

  • A 77-year-old woman from Kingston
  • An 85-year-old man from Westmoreland

The positivity rate increased from 5.6 per cent to 8 per cent. The total number of tests: 716.

Of the 57 new cases, St James accounted for the highest number with 15.

St Catherine in the meantime, accounted for the second-highest number of cases with 10; Kingston and St Andrew followed with 9; St Elizabeth with 6; Manchester with 5; Clarendon, Trelawny, Westmoreland with 3 each; Hanover with 2; St Mary with 1. Portland, St Thomas and St Ann recorded no new cases.
