‘Bunny’ Shaw hits the target for City in WSL

Reggae Girls and Manchester City striker Kadijah ‘Bunny’ Shaw, returned to the scorers table after netting in City’s 2-0 win over West Ham women in the Womens’ Super League (WSL) on Saturday.

Shaw rose highest to make a brilliantly executed header from a corner in the 63rd minute to double ‘Cityzens’ lead as they closed out the game at the Chigwell Construction Stadium, Durham.

It was the Shaw’s fifth goal in the league and 19th goal in all competitions for The Continental Cup Champions this season.

The win is also Man. City’s fourth consecutive victory as they climb to fourth in the standings with 35 points to go level with third placed Manchester United, who has a superior goal average.

Shaw, Jamaica’s leading scorer across both genders with 44 goals has been in a rich vein of form in the past two months for both club and country.

This includes scoring in back-to-back games for the Reggae Girls during their CONCACAF Womens’ Championships qualifiers.  The Talismanic forward is set to extend her record further when they tackle Cayman Islands on Saturday, April 9 at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex in Georgetown, Cayman Islands.
