The National Land Agency (NLA) will, in the coming weeks, relaunch its flagship eLandjamaica platform, which will allow for increased functionality of the system and integration of improved features to the existing infrastructure.

Dubbed eLandjamaica 3.0, the new platform will boast an upgraded e-commerce platform, which will facilitate more seamless purchases of property information such as: Certificates of Titles, Caveat Cards, Deposited Plans, and Strata Plans. The platform’s key feature, an interactive map of Jamaica, will also benefit from performance improvements such as faster load times.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), National Land Agency, Cheriese Walcott underscored that effective use of technology is one of the Agency’s unique selling point and will continue to be included in its current mode of service delivery.

“Technology plays a major role in the service delivery offerings of the National Land Agency, and we will continue to integrate the use of technology in our operations especially in the post-COVID era. Technology, too, needs constant updating and upgrading to function efficiently, and as such, it is in the best interest of those we serve to take steps to improve our systems and infrastructure.” Walcott noted

Walcott also added that the Agency has been receiving many calls from customers about when the platform will become fully operational again, as it comes on the heels of announcements made on the Agency’s social media pages of the platform being temporarily unavailable since April 11, 2022.

“Efforts to upgrade the platform had begun since April, and my team at the NLA has been working assiduously to have the matter addressed in the shortest possible time. We are aware of the challenges that customers are experiencing with the platform being offline, which is why we have implemented our free eMap service to alleviate the inconvenience as well as designated Officers to address eLandjamaica related queries. Nonetheless, we are pleased to announce that eLandjamaica version 3.0 is in an advanced stage of development and will be available in short order ” Walcott explained.

The existing eLandjamaica platform allows subscribers to access property information such as: valuation numbers, volume and folio numbers, property, and scheme addresses.

It also facilitates an extended buffer search for locating neighboring parcels; drawing and measurement tools to determine distance and area on the free integrated map; and a feedback mechanism for customers.
