Police Commissioner Major Antony Anderson has listed a person of interest linked to the brutal killing a Clarendon woman and her four children.

He is 23-year-old Rushane Barnett otherwise called ‘Jet’ of Wilson’s Run in Trelawny; Barrett is also said to be a cousin of the deceased. Barrett is also known to visit Papine in St Andrew and Coco Piece in Clarendon.

Earlier on the bodies of 34 -year-old Kimberly Wright along with her four children were discovered in the community of New Road in Clarendon. It is understood that all five victims were found with their throats slashed

Meanwhile, Minister of National Security and Deputy Prime Minister Dr Horace Chang has expressed disdain in light of the news of the gruesome murders.

Minister Chang outlined that the killings were unwarranted and borders on brutal savagery as the lives of individuals that showed potential was cut short.

“The Government of Jamaica strongly condemns the unwarranted attack of a 34-year-old woman and her four children in Clarendon this morning. These are young promising children with their entire lives ahead of them; Mrs. Wright was hardworking young woman who was making a life for herself and her children ” he noted

“This barbarity is deplorable and reflects the epidemic of interpersonal violence that affects sections of our society today. Such evil reinforces the need for us to pursue a holistic approach to this disease of interpersonal violence that affects our society ” he added.

Minister Chang also noted that increased efforts are also being made by members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to bring the perpetrator to justice.
