One of three men who held up an off-duty JDF soldier at gunpoint last night along the flat bridge gorge in st Catherine will start the new year without his left hand.
The hand, was severed with a machete allegedly by the military man who was forced to defend himself during a tussle.
Reports are that the soldier felt ill and stopped along the gorge.
Sleek Jamaica Media understands that the men suddenly appeared and they cunningly pretended to assist the soldier before proceeding to rob him.
It is also reported that the men requested the keys to the soldier’s car and when met with resistance, a firearm was drawn.
The Bog Walk police are investigating.
The men are in custody.
