When Dancehall singer Dexta Daps titled his 2019 track ‘No Underwear’, he would not have imagined the extremes some of his fans would be willing to go to in order to prove those lines correct. However, one female patron in Cayman Island decided to press her luck with the artiste, after climbing on stage in an attempt to crown him with her undergarments.
The incident which was caught on camera is said to have occurred close to the end of his set of his show in the Cayman Islands on the weekend.
In a now-viral video, the incident shows a throng of his female fans rushing to hug the artiste shortly after it was announced that he will be doing the final track of his set.
It was during that moment that one bold fan took advantage in an attempt to place her panties on Dexta’s head.
Her attempt was however thwarted by the quick reflexes of the artiste as he turned around in time to dodge and move away before security eventually ushered her off the stage.
A visibly disturbed Dexta stood still almost in disbelief at the woman’s bold attempt at getting his attention.
Despite being no stranger to stage antics and gimmickry with his female fans as part of his performances it’s unlikely that even he would have expected such boldness until now.
He was however a good sport about the ordeal:
“She good man, she good. She did think it was her boyfriend man she good, Jah Jah,” Dexta later announced.
Social media users however were not as calm about the incident:
“Some women is get carried away. Why would you think this is something to do to somebody?” one person shared on Twitter. “Disrespectful on so many levels “another user reacted.
The Dappa Dan eventually closed the show with his hit ‘Call Me If’ while more women took turns dancing with him before he left.
