Shenseea nominated for Latin Grammy Award

International dancehall star Shenseea continues to break musical barriers after picking up a Latin Grammy nomination to add to her ever-expanding resume of achievements.

‘Shenyeng’ picked up the nod for her contribution as a songwriter on Rauw Alejandro’s Trap-Cake Vol 2 album, which is nominated for Best Urban Music Album.

The ‘Rain’ appears on the album as a performer and writer for her feature on Alejandro’s red Velvet track. The project also features Jamaican super producer Tarik ‘Rvssian’ Johnson with production credits on the album.

It’s understood that Shenseea is the first female Jamaican artiste to receive a Latin Grammy nomination which adds to her already historic feat of being the first Jamaican act to be nominated for a Video Music award (VMA.)

The blessed hitmaker picked up the Push performance of the year for her R&B/pop-inspired track R U that’ featuring rapper 21 Savage.

The Latin award ‘noms’ underscored her growing influence in the various markets globally after recently earning several Grammy nods for works with Kanye West and Major Lazor to name a few.

The Alpha is set to keep the good times rolling as she prepares for her Rolling loud performance in New York on Friday, September 23, following her massive set in the Toronto staging last week.
