English club Chelsea completed the double over Italian Serie A team AC Milan following their 2-0 win at the San Siro in their second-leg Champions League fixture on Tuesday.
Chelsea who entered the game with a psychological advantage having dismissed the Milan 3-0 last week added inflicted more mental anguish on the host team with two more goals in another comfortable win.
The opening goal came ironically from an Italian as Chelsea’s influential midfielder opened their account in the 21st minute via penalty, after Mason Mount was fouled inside the box.
That foul resulted in a straight red card for Fikayo Tamori in the 18th minute as Milan had to play the remainder of the game a man short.
Chelsea had no complaints about the advantage as they double their lead in the 34th minute through summer signee Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
That’s how it would end for after an even second half which saw both teams cancel the other out.
The result sees Chelsea rise to the top of E with seven points while Milan remains fourth on four points.
Other notable results on the day saw Real Madrid and PSG both held to 1-1 draw against Shakhtar Donetsk and Benfica respectively.
