A 61-year-old California teacher was on Thursday arrested for hiding a missing teen in her home for two years.
Official reports indicate that the Rancho Cordova Police Department arrested 61-year-old Holga Castillo Olivares in connection to the disappearance of Michael Ramirez who disappeared when he was 15 years old.
The accused has since been charged with detention of a minor with the intent to conceal from a parent(s) and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
It is understood that on June 9, 2020, Ramirez’ family reported him missing after he failed to return home from school. However, on March 11,2022 just two years after he was reported missing, Ramirez emerged at the accused’s house.
Following this discovery, the accused was placed on administrative leave from the Sacramento City Unified School District pending the outcome of a district investigation.
In the interim, the accused is slated to appear in court on Monday October 31.
