With just under 48 hours before the World Cup finals, the health concerns for reigning champions France continue to mount after another French player has fallen ill.

According to reports, attacker Kingsley Coman has become the latest player to report a fever this week.

This comes days after Dayot Upamecano and Adrien Rabiot were forced to be omitted from the starting list against Morocco mid-week after being hit with illnesses.

France of course was still able to secure a 2-0 over the Moroccans to advance to finals.

That came after manager Didier Deschamps was forced to make a few changes from the team that knocked out England in the previous round due to an illness spreading through the camp.

Ibrahima Konate and Youssouf Fofana were brought in by the French boss and it remains to be seen whether Upamecano and Rabiot will be back for the final.

While Deschamps has had to manage the health of his fit players and recovering ones he now has to now monitor some concerns over Coman’s availability heading into the showdown with Argentina.

The French boss has blamed the use of air-conditioning in the stadiums despite temperatures at the tournament now dropping.

“We have had a few cases of flu-like symptoms. We are trying to be careful so that it does not spread and the players have put in a great effort on the pitch and obviously their immune systems suffer.”

France however has shown they have the depth and quality to get the job throughout the tournament given their constant improvisation and rotation of the squads dealing with injuries and this will now be the ultimate test of management and fitness by the France management team.
