English Premier League (EPL) leader Arsenal will be looking to maintain their push toward a first league title in 20 years when they face third-place Newcastle FC at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
Arsenal, who entered the New year with a seven-point lead over the nearest rivals Manchester City after they dropped points at Everton on Saturday will be aiming to further capitalize on the momentum.
Third-place Newcastle, who also missed the chance to cut Arsenal’s after dropping themselves will be aiming to at the very least leave with another point to maintain their own ambitions of a top-four finish this season.
A win for Arsenal will them move to 46 points 10 more than City on 36, while a surprise win for Newcastle will see them leapfrog into second place by a point with 37 points.
Should they lose however they now become at risk of being passed by fourth-place Manchester United (34 points) who will also be in action against AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday.
Other games on the day will see struggling Everton try to build on their surprise point against City when they face Brighton & Hove Albion while Leicester City in their game.
