Frank Lampard has become the latest managerial casualty of the English Premier League this season after being sacked by Everton on Monday.

News of his sacking came hours following their 2-0 loss to West Ham United on Sunday.

That result was seemingly the final nail in the coffin for his tenure at the Merseyside club which has been struggling for to avoid relegation all season.

According to reports the former Chelsea manager was given the axe via a phone call from the club’s major shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

The decision which even he himself would not have been shocking, given the club’s current position in the league and brings an end to his 357-day spell in charge dismal spell at the team.

Lampard who took over at the midway point last year, won only 12 of his 44 matches in charge in all competitions, a win percentage of 27.27 that is far worse than his record at Derby (42.1%) and Chelsea (52.4%).

He now joins Steven Gerrard and Thomas Tuchel who have both been let go by Aston Villa and Chelsea earlier this season.

Everton who is second from bottom with a poultry 15 points from 20 games, has yet to identify a replacement for the former England international as they contemplate a strategy for an escape from the relegation zone.
