Wealth Advisor from the Ocho Rios National Commercial Bank Branch, Khadene Thomas, was today granted a $5 million bail when she appeared in the St Ann Parish Court.
Thomas, who was charged with larceny under the Cyber Crimes Act, made her first court appearance on Friday, January 20 where she was further remanded until today’s hearing.
In today’s hearing, however, Parish Court Judge Larona Montague denied the bail application made by Thomas’ attorney Matthew Hyatt after receiving information about Thomas may have defrauded three other clients from the institution.
As such, Montague Williams stated that an additional two weeks will be given to investigators to probe the new allegations.
At the time of her arrest, Thomas was accused of fleecing US $143,000 from a client who knew and respected her.
It is understood that the accused forged the customer’s signature on a debt instrument and transferred funds to several accounts including her own.
