International Dancehall superstar Sean Paul continues to prove his catalog remains in high demand after his collaboration with Beyonce on their 2003 smash hit ‘Baby Boy’ was officially certified platinum in the UK.
The track was officially Brit certified by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) on Friday (April 14).
The Baby Boy’s UK platinum status which verifies sales of at least 600,000 equivalent units comes three years after earning a gold certification in the territory.
The track was one of Beyonce’s first hit as Solo artiste following her departure from Destiny’s Child.
The smash helped spur the success of her album ‘Dangerously In love’ and later added as part of Dutty Paul’s 2003 multi-platinum selling album- Dutty Rock.
The feat is Sean Paul’s 20th platinum certification and 41st overall in the market.
Dutty Rock also amassed Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) platinum status in the US on December 14, 2022, among several platinum-selling singles in the states.
Over the years, Sean Paul has released back-to-back Grammy-nominated albums (Live N Livin and Scorcha).
The ‘No Lie’ hit maker who was one of the major names on J.Cole’s Dreamville Fest, is set to join the Marley Brothers as headliners in Kaya Fest at Red Rockers Morrison, Denver on April 19.
