Haiti’s access to water and sanitation to improve with World Bank assistance

The World Bank has announced, that, its Board of Executive Directors have approved a multi-million grant for the Decentralised Sustainable and Resilient Rural Water and Sanitation Project in Haiti.

It added that this financing aims to increase access to inclusive, resilient, and sustainable potable water services for 250,000 people, and access to basic sanitation services for 125,000 people.

The World Bank also noted that it includes 50 percent of women from small towns and rural communities across the country. 

The grant is worth 80 million USD and will see the provision for clean water infrastructure and more.

This funding comes amidst the increasing demand for water and sanitation as the country struggles with violence and poverty.
