The workers for Caribbean Products Company Limited are on their second day of protest, regarding the Company’s implementation of a flexi-work-arrangement.
It follows a meeting involving their union, the company, and the Labour Ministry on Monday (July 3) which the workers claim did not produce a favorable outcome.
Meanwhile, the Management has hit back at claims that the workers were not properly engaged in the implantation.
Reports are that the Chief Executive Officer of the Seprod Group of Companies, Richard Pandohie classifies the matter as a ‘discord of lies’ not reflective of the flex-work arrangement.
He reportedly said the employees are fighting against the introduction of a fourth-shift system, aimed at reducing the 7-day work week of staff and thereby boosting productivity.
However, the employees say they will continue to protest until an agreement is achieved.
