Five-time women’s 100m World Champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, is set to make her season debut in the women’s 200m on Saturday at Jamaica’s National Trials at the National Stadium.

Fraser-Pryce shared the news via her Facebook on Thursday.

The former two-time Olympic sprint Gold medalist was forced to delay her season due to injury concerns.

Fraser-Pryce, who gains an automatic spot into the World Championships 100m as the event’s defending champion, opted not to compete in the heats of Thursday’s opening day of the trials.

The race will be her first since withdrawing from the Kip Keino Classic in May after feeling some discomfort during warmups ahead of her race in Kenya.

While it remains unknown if she will do the double at this year’s Championships, the races would provide valuable competition as part of training to build race sharpness ahead of her title defense in Budapest next month.

Fraser-Pryce who is the third fastest woman in history over the 100m(10.63s), became the first woman to win five 100m World titles following her imperious victory in Eugene to lead home a historic Jamaican sweep in the event.
