With millions of dollars invested in national security, Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, says this is a top priority of the JLP Government, as it is “security first” with the aim to control crime.

He added that they have been taking firm and deliberate steps to harden the national security architecture and ensure that Jamaica does not become a haven for organised criminal groups.

While speaking at a Jamaica Labour Party, JLP executive meeting in Kingston on Sunday, he said “We are investing in professional, capable security forces to combat crime effectively. Progress takes time, but we’re committed to bringing crime under control.”

All this comes as the government has been strengthening the structure of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), while the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) continues to undergo structural reform.
