The fastest woman over 200-meter Shericka Jackson will be conferred with an Honorary Doctorate of Law by the University of Technology at its upcoming graduation ceremony this month.

In a statement, the University said, Jackson who is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in its newest Faculty of Sports Science will be recognized for her phenomenal achievements in sprinting and her contribution to nation-building.

She is the 2023 diamond league winner over the 100 and 200 meters and is also listed as one of 11 nominees for the 2023 World Athlete Female of the Year award, and shortlisted for the 2023 prestigious Fair Play Award.

Additionally, the former Vere Technical High athlete is the 6th fastest woman over 100 metres of all time.

Shericka Jackson will be given the Honorary Doctorate on November 18, at the University.
