Dancehall star Chronic Law has received the thumbs-up from fans following the official release of his track “Weekend” on the revived Street Vybz Riddim.
“Weekend,” which premiered on Friday, amassed over 104,000 streams in its first 18 hours, making it the 17th most trending song on YouTube.
Comments about the highly anticipated single also mirrored its popularity with an overwhelming nod of approval from fans online.
“Weekend” kicks off the revival of the 2010 NotNice production, marking a solid start for releases on the instrumental update.
A slew of upcoming and established artistes are said to be included on the instrumental as anticipation surrounding the renaissance of classic throwback riddims continues to grow.
Street Vybz’s initial release in 2009 yielded several hits from the then Vybz Kartel-led Portmore Empire, such as “When Wi Party” by Meritlal, “Up In Da Club” by Popcaan in addition to twin hits: Pure Love Mi Gi Gyal and Street Vybz by Kartel.
