The annual celebration of the birth, life, and legacy of the late King of Reggae Robert Nesta Marley will once again take place on February 6th and the foundation is set to transform Jamaica with a slew of excitement.

Most of the events will take place at the reggae legend’s former home at 56 Hope Road, now known as the Bob Marley Museum.

It will all fall under the theme, ‘One Love 79’.

According to Bob’s daughter Cedella Marley in a statement “Each year we look forward to honouring my dad in a way that highlights his legacy and is inclusive of our extended family, friends, and fans from around the globe. More than a song title, One Love is a timeless call to the world, and sums up the spirit and the genius that is Bob Marley.”

SLEEK connected with Julia Vaz, Marketing Director of the Bob Marley Group of Companies who gave us the agenda for the day.

There will be a live television broadcast all day on Tuff Gong TV and Bob Marley socials in addition to special tours of the museum.

When asked about the Marleys expected to perform, Vaz said, it will be a surprise.

However, Nadine Sutherland, Queen Ifrica, Richie Spice, and Black I Am have been announced as a few of this year’s performers.

Meanwhile, Vaz who is not just a Marketing Director of the Bob Marley Group of Companies but a close family friend, shared her views on the recently premiered One Love Bob Marley Movie.
