Former boxing heavyweight champion Mike “Iron” Tyson is set to make his return to the ring when he faces influencer turned-fighter Jake Paul in a mega showdown at the AT&T Stadium on July 20.
The much-publicized bout which will be streamed on Netflix was announced on Thursday.
While the contest pits one of boxing’s all-time greats, Tyson, 57, versus the new generation’s sporting anomalies in 27-year-old Paul, it remains unclear if the fixture will be classified as a professional or exhibition match.
Tyson, who retired professionally in 2005 following defeat to Kevin McBride, previously stepped through the ropes in a 2020 exhibition fight with fellow boxing great Roy Jones Jr.
Paul, whose boxing prominence rose following the exhibition “Fight Cards” with names such as former pro boxer Nate Diaz and fellow social media influencers KSI, has since racked up ten career bouts, including nine wins and one loss.
