Bob Marley: “One Love” movie goes #6 for all-time musician biopic at US box office

Moviegoers are still showing out for Bob Marley’s “One Love” as the film moved up to number six on the list of highest-grossing Biopic for a musician at the US Box Office.

Bob Marley; One Love which stood at number seven following a domestic box office haul of 82.8 million last week, pulled an additional 6.9 million as of the week of March 11 to be just shy of $90 million at $89.7 in the US, as per Box Office Mojo.

The million-dollar rally sees the Marley-inspired flick leapfrog “I Can Only Imagine” ($83.5 m) for sixth in the box office ranking after previously trailing the 2018 release just under one million in sales.

The 2019 Elton John film titled Rocket Man,” which earned $96.4 million, is now the only biopic standing between it and a top-five placement.

The other biopics between third to fourth include 2022s “Elvis,” inspired by the “King of Rock and Roll”-$151 million, is number three while “Walk The Line“(2005), inspired by country music legend Johnny Cash,$119.5 million, comes in at number four.

2015’s rap drama, “Straight Out Compton,” a film about the Iconic US rap group “NWA,” is second with 161.2 million, while 2018’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” which tells the story of Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of the legendary rock band “Queen,” remains the head of the pack after earning a US domestic haul of $216.4. million.

Bob Marley: One Love” has earned $160.9 million Worldwide thus far.
