There will be no Bounty Killer performance or tribute appearance at the 2024 staging of Reggae Sumfest as the deejay announced his withdrawal from the festival set for July 14-20.

Killer disclosed his expected absence to fans via his social media on Tuesday night.

The announcement attracted predominantly support from fans, with several also expressing disappointment in his projected absence from the lineup.

Killer previously asked fans to select performers they would want to see be part of his tribute following the announced salute to the music icon last year.

The news is the first major causality from the show’s lineup, which will include several heavy hitters such as global reggae sensation YG Marley, R&B icon Babyface, and dancehall stars Teejay, Valiant, and Aidonia, among others.
