Sean Paul’s “The Trinity” album goes platinum in the UK

Music from Dancehall superstar Sean Paul continues to be a top seller internationally, as his 2005 “The Trinity” album was brit certified platinum for registered sales of at least 300,000 units in the UK.

British Phonographic Institute (BPI) officially certified the project’s new status on Friday, 19 years after going Gold in its release year.

The Dancehall classic yielded several anthems such as “We Be Burning,”Give It Up To Me,” and “Temperature,” all platinum-selling singles in various markets.

The update adds a year of recognition for “Dutty Paul” who was among the “Honourary Mentions” in Billboard’s “25 Greatest Popstars of the 21st Century.”

The certification also comes on the heels of being announced as a recipient of the keys to the city of New York for his contributions to the music industry.
