A Russian man who got a vasectomy after fathering four children is reportedly preparing a lawsuit against a medical clinic for botching the procedure and causing him to father a fifth child.
According to reports, the man identified as Maxim, 45, a resident of the Russian city of Ufa, decided on vasectomy after his wife welcomed their fourth child in 2022.
It’s understood that he visited “Promeditsina”, a local medical clinic that performed surgeries, where he paid 30,000 rubles/US $330 for the snip.
The procedure was successful and Maxim was discharged from the clinic after only a few hours.
Life seemed to be going as “planned” for Maxim until last year when his wife revealed she was pregnant much to his shock. The couple later welcomed their fifth child in November.
The clinic called his case a “medical miracle” after he confirmed the paternity of the child was indeed his, and encouraged him to be happy in his new bundle of joy.
According to the SHOT News a Telegram channel, the Ufa clinic offered to refund the cost paid to settle the dispute, but was declined by Maxim, as he and his family have opted to take the case to court for moral damages and for the expected expenses associated with raising a fifth child.
