Bob Marley & The Wailers’ “Legend” album ranked #2 for most weeks ever on Billboard’s Hot 200 chart

The legacy of Bob Marley’s music continues to be reaffirmed as his “Legend: The Best of Bob Marley & The Wailers” project was ranked as the album with the second-longest time on Billboard’s Hot 200 Chart.

The diamond-selling album, released in 1984 has spent 851 weeks on the charts one of three albums in Billboard history to exceed 800 weeks of placing.

“Journey’s Greatest Hits” from US rock band- Journey, at 821 weeks and number 1 ranked “The Dark Side of the Moon” from iconic UK rock group, Pink Floyd at 990 weeks, are the only projects to cross the chart threshold.

“Legend,” a posthumous Marley release has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, with 15 million units in the US alone.

The album along with several other Marley drops remains a staple on the Reggae Billboard as the gold standard in the genre as the top-selling album in both streaming and downloads across music platforms.
