Cristiano Ronaldo continues to roll back the years in front of goal after netting his 904th career strike in football and 71st for Al-Nassr as they beat Al Rayyan 2-1 in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League on Monday.
Ronaldo, who has been in spry form since this year, scored in the 76th minute to double Al Nassr’s lead after Sadio Mane’s 46th-minute strike opened scoring for the Saudi Pro League giants.
Despite a late rally by Al Rayyan, which yielded an 87th goal by Roger Guedes, it proved to be a consolation prize as Al Nasrr held on to take a crucial win led by another Ronaldo effort.
Ronaldo’s target of 1000 career goals seems closer to coming sooner than later, having scored four times in four appearances since passing 900 in September.
