Manchester United’s blushes were spared following extra-time heroics by defender Harry Maguire to rescue a crucial point for the English team following a dramatic 3-3 draw with Portuguese team FC Porto in the Europa League on Thursday.

Maguire rose highest inside a populated FC Porto box to head home a corner from the left side for a dramatic equaliser in the 91st minute to salvage an unlikely point.

His goal was the crowning moment of what was otherwise a nervous final ten minutes by Man U, which saw them reduced to 10 men after Bruno Fernandes was sent off for the second consecutive game.

Despite early goals from Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Højlund in the seventh and 27th minutes. A Samu Omorodion’s brace seemingly condemned Erik ten Hag’s men to a second defeat in as many games after Pepe cut the deficit in minute 20 as Porto ran riot in the second half.

United, however, found a late push, earning a last-gasp corner, ultimately resulting in Maguire’s latest heroics for the team and would undoubtedly reduce the pressure on under-fire manager Ten Hag.

While the former live to see another, the result will leave serious questions about their contention for silverware this season.
