Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel says he plans on signing “a new generation” of artistes to help develop their careers and create international exposure for talented musicians.
Kartel shared his plans during an interview with US media personality Keyshia Ka’oir on her “All Things Keyshia Ka’oir” podcast, which aired on Friday.
The “Worl Boss” shared that he wanted to enhance what he did with the popular Portmore Empire movement as a label, which helped catapult the careers of several Dancehall stars such as Popcaan, Tommy Lee Sparta, Vanessa Bling, etc.
Kartel has already resumed his reign as the top dancehall act in Jamaica following his release from 13-year detention, as his first post-incarceration drop, “Comet“, retains its hold as the top trending song on YouTube for a third week with over 5.5 million streams.
“Di Teacha,” who hinted at another addition to his catalogue, is currently preparing for his highly anticipated Freedom Street homecoming concert set for the National Stadium, Kingston, on December 31.
