Reggae Royalty Skip Marley continues to affirm his quality among global music lovers as the music video for his Maxi Priest-sampled “Close” becomes the number one downloaded Reggae content on iTunes.

The track which premiered on Friday, has received solid reception for its concept and choice of sample.

“Close” samples Priest’s 1990 classic “Close To You”, which was a global smash following its release, topping the US Billboard 100 that year as well as peaking at number two in Australia and number seven on the UK singles chart

It remains a classic among Reggae and Pop playlists.

Marley, who previously topped Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay charts with his collaboration with R&B star H.E.R, recently completed his sold-out debut headline European tour, underlining the growing strength of his own fan base.
