Instagram users will now be able to share their location via Direct Messages (DM) as the social media platform continues its latest round of updates on Monday.

According to Instagram, users will able to share their location privately, either one-to-one or within group chats, which will last up to an hour before disappearing, as per The Verge.

The update is likened to that of location-sharing features in Snapchat’s SnapMap. Snapchat is, of course, owned by Instagram’s Parent Company, Meta.

While the feature is live, it is currently only available in select countries, with a full rollout expected in the coming weeks.
