Jamaican track legend Asafa Powell reaffirmed his status as a role model and commitment to youth development through sports following a sizable donation in aid of members of the Camperdown High School netball team’s quest to compete in the upcoming Florida Netball Classic in Florida.
The former two-time world record holder in partnership with the Sagicor Foundation made the $450,000 donation to help cover associated costs to attend the international competition.

Commenting on the benevolent deed, via his IG Powell on Sunday, he shared that he was approached by a student who shared their situation while attending a Sunshine Girls game.

The Sub-ten king, moved by the student’s courageous acumen in seeking assistance
to help the team’s cause, teamed up with Sagicor and Sponsor Puma to help make dream of three girls a reality.
The girls were also gifted with new sneakers from Puma to add to their preparation.
