Finland has extended its reign as the happiest country in the world for the eighth consecutive year following the 2025 World Happiness Report 2025.

According to the report, Finnish citizens’ assessment of their quality of life ranked the highest in contrast to their international counterparts. Finland’s placement headlines the continued dominance of Nordic countries on the list with regional neighbours DenmarkIceland and Sweden retaining their rank among the top four.

Country rankings were based on responses from citizens when quizzed about life in the country.

“Happiness isn’t just about wealth or growth — it’s about trust, connection and knowing people have your back,” said Jon Clifton, the CEO of Gallup. “If we want stronger communities and economies, we must invest in what truly matters: each other.”

“The study was done in partnership with the analytics firm Gallup and the U.N. Sustainable Development Solutions Network,” as per The Associated Press (AP).

Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago were the highest-ranked participating Caribbean countries at 73 and 71 out of 147 countries globally.
