Top Prize, the newest album from dancehall deejay Alkaline continues to get him international recognition. In a recent interview with Miami New Times, the artiste speaks about his album, the inspiration behind it, and his plans for his career going forward.

Top Prize is whatever goal you want to achieve–it’s rising and exceeding expectations. And just enjoy the whole process, the whole journey,” he shared with interviewer Shanae Hardy in their sit down.

The Champion Boy singer explained his desire to evolve in the music and his belief that his May 14 album drop changed the current narrative.

The Vendetta Boss has always shied away from the media spotlight using mainly his talent as a way to get seen in the dancehall space. This , it seems, has only  furthered his steps towards the international stage.

With his growing repertoire of international interviews, becoming the first Caribbean artist to perform on Audiomack’s Fine Tune acoustic series and having the honor of being the face of Spotify’s first Caribbean playlist, Back a Yard, it can only be up from here for Alkaline.
