The Associated Press (AP) News has issued a public apology to R&B/soul legend Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds following backlash after his interview on the Grammys red carpet was abruptly cut to speak to another artiste on Sunday.
“We Are deeply sorry for cutting our interview with Babyface short during our live stream on our YouTube”, AP said in a statement on Monday.
The media also shared that it also personally apologised to the many-time Grammy winner through his reps.
AP reporters speaking with Babyface during his red-carpet media suddenly and unceremoniously invited Best New Artste nominee (eventual winner) Chappell Roan, mid-interview, seemingly wanting to move along to Babyface uncomfortably obliged live on stream.

The interview quickly became a main talking point of social media, with many online users venting their disdain for the unprofessional treatment of the music icon.
Babyface has yet to publicly react to the incident.
