Dancehall fast riser Arekode has hit the mark among fans after becoming the top trending artiste on YouTube with his track “Rey Rico.“

The single which has been hovering inside the top three spots since its September 1 release, officially took the number one spot on the platform, racking over 280,000 streams after five days.

The feat adds to the growing buzz of the single’s popularity on social media as its popularity on TikTok continues to translate into streams with the song currently the seventh most listened track on Apple Music in Jamaica.

With a handful of releases in the past two months amassing over 200,000 streams, Areakode seems poised to be among the “next-up” artistes heading into the final quarter of the year.
