The bail hearing for embattled Constable Noel Maitland was postponed until October 13. Maitland also received an additional charge when he appeared in the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston this morning.

In addition to the charge of murder in relation to the death of 23-year-old Social Media Influencer Donna Lee Donaldson, Maitland was also charged with preventing the lawful burial of a corpse.

The decision was rendered by Justice Vinnett Graham Allen this afternoon after submissions were brought forward from both defense attorney Christopher Townsend and the prosecution.

Maitland was arrested on Thursday July 28, after forensic evidence proved that the blood found in his apartment belonged to Donna Lee Donaldson.

DCP Bailey also outlined that there was sufficient evidence linking Maitland to the crime however a motive was not established. Bailey also underscored that the murder also took place between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12.
