Dancehall star Beenie Man marked his first US performance in 13 years with a scintillating set as one of the main acts for the Jazz In The Gardens Music Fest show in Miami on Sunday.

Beenie, who has a strong fan base in the US, pulled out the seemingly unending hits as he reminded the crowd of what they’ve missed over the past decade with a master class in stage presence and performance acumen, as he kept the massive crowds engaged throughout his set.

Among the more memorable moments during Beenie’s time included the cameo with R&B icon Mya as they linked for an ecstatic live performance of their classic “Girls Dem Sugar” with the crowd vociferously roaring in approval.

Following the close of the show, which was in its 18th year, Beenie’s performance remained one of the major highlights of the annual event, which also included R&B/Pop Legends- Toni Braxton, Sisqo and New Edition and New York Rap icon Remmy Ma among this year’s staging.

The reception on the show marks massive success for the “Doctor” since the announcement of the reissuance of his visa and work permit in the states earlier this year, underlining the unfailing demand for dancehall in the US market.
